Brooke and Steven have been such a fun couple to work with and it was a bitter sweet moment when their wedding ended and I realized I was going to be done shooting with these guys. I’ll be blogging their gorgeous wedding soon, but first you guys have to check out these killer bridals we took at the Utah Capitol Building a couple weeks beforehand. (Also, if you want to check out their cute engagement session at Big Cottonwood Canyon click here!)

I absolutely love when my brides take the time to schedule a separate session specially for the first look and some formal photos, because it takes so much stress off of them for the wedding day. You can go into your big day knowing that you already got those images you knew you wanted and can just have fun and enjoy getting photos with all the family and friends who come. Plus then you can even display some of the photos at the wedding! Brooke really wanted to have some pictures in her dress to have out at her reception so we scheduled her session for right before my trip to Europe. (We couldn’t do any earlier because her dress wasn’t ready yet). We basically only had this one day that worked for us to get the pictures and of course that morning when I looked at the weather it said it was going to be raining! I texted Brooke and we decided to go ahead and shoot anyways, and I’m so glad we did because the weather ended up actually being perfect! It was a little chilly outside, but the lighting was absolutely gorgeous on them and all of the photos turned out perfect.

Steven is so cute with Brooke because he constantly just compliments her and tells her how beautiful she is. When I told him how sweet I thought it was that he was so vocal about his affections he said “I don’t really understand why some guys aren’t! If you like a girl, say it!”

Relationship goals, AM I RIGHT?
